Margarita Gramaticova
PIANIST



























Bulgarian-born pianist Margarita Gramaticova has earned degrees from the Sofia Music School and the Plovdiv Academy of Music studying with Emilia Kaneva and Milena Mollova (protégé of Emil Gilels).  She was a prizewinner at the Svetoslav Obretenov Competition and has performed at the Sofia New Bulgarian Music Festival as well as concerts in Greece and Italy. In addition to being a soloist, she is much in demand as a coach and accompanist. She taught for two years at the National Conservatory of Music in Athens, Greece. Ms. Gramaticova moved to the USA and is currently teaching piano privately in Northern Virginia. She performed in 2005 at the Kennedy Center with the Washington Ballet and The Washington Post commented on  " her sensitive handling of Chopin." She performed  an all-Chopin concert at the Anderson House in DC and recently in Morocco. Her recording of the Chopin Ballades was released in 2007. She performed in Summer 2008 in Puerto Rico with members of the San Juan Symphony Orchestra. In  2010, she performed
with the Fairfax Chorale Society and pianist Raffi Kasparian in a two-piano arrangement of Karl Orff's Carmina Burana. Many of her students have won many competitions in Northern Virginia including prizes in the District and State Auditions. In addition, she was the Chairman of the NVMTA Judged Recitals for two years.

Margarita Gramaticova performed at the Opening Gala Ceremony of the Fifth Annual WIPAC 2007 Festival of Music and Washington International Piano Artists Competition hosted by the Bulgarian Embassy in Washington, DC  on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. http://www.wipac.org/
Margarita Gramaticova gave an all-Chopin concert in Marrakech, Morocco 2008.

Margarita Gramaticova performed the Chopin Trio and Cello Sonata with concertmaster of San Juan Orchestra Henry Hutchinson and Cellist Emilio Colon www.emiliocolon.com in August 2008 in Puerto Rico.

In  2010, she performed with the Fairfax Chorale Society and pianist Raffi Kasparian in a two-piano arrangement of Karl Orff's Carmina Burana  www.fairfaxchoralsociety.org
